Flights to Alaska.

It now seems that more airlines are prepared to start offering nonstop flights to Alaska. Due to this, it is expected that fares to Alaska will start to go down. These flights are going to be offered to Alaska this summer. Experts say that almost 48 cities should notice lower fares to Alaska.

Sources go on to say that Continental, United and US Airways all plan to add daily nonstop flights to Alaska. These flights will be offered out of many cities, including Anchorage, Portland, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia. Delta plans to and new flights to Salt Lake City, and Frontier will add a flight to Denver. No flights are being added, however, to Seattle, which is a major transfer hub for Alaskans.

Industry officials go on to say that added competition should help to drop air fares as the new flights are added in May and June. This could be good for airlines, as it could get more people up and traveling to help the airline industry rebound quicker.Experts say that despite the fact that this year is said to be a recovery year for the airline industry, these carriers still have to be careful. Right now passenger numbers are not as high as they should be and slight changes could end up costing airlines even more customers. Now is not the time for airlines to start raising prices.

These are the same experts that are against all of the increased fees that airline passengers are having to deal with. They point out that these fees are making it even more expensive to fly. Given the fragile nature of the airline industry, it is not a good idea to be making it more costly for passengers to fly. This could only work in causing more people to shy away from flying.
