British Airways subsidiary OpenSkies will launch new service between Washington Dulles International Airport and Paris Orly Airport, beginning May 3.OpenSkies is an all business class carrier that offers passengers more room and extra entertainment systems. The service from Washington to Paris will be on a Boeing 757 configured for 72 passengers with no middle seats.
The aircraft will be separated into two cabins. The 'Biz Bed' cabin will have 12 seats able to recline 180 degrees to form a completely flat bed. The 'Biz Seat' cabin will have 60 seats capable of recling 140 degrees.The increasing cachet of Washington, D.C., has created a demand for unique, premium travel options at competitive rates, said OpenSkies CEO Dale Moss in a statement. Travelers want to receive better value, which means they want better products at better prices and that's just what we offer.
Fares listed on the OpenSkies Web site for the inaugural flight were $1,650 for Biz Seat service and $2,231 for Biz Bed service.The carrier intends to operate five flights per week between Washington and Paris in May and increase that in the coming months. Currently, OpenSkies flies 17 flights per week between New York and Paris with service from Newark International Airport.
