British Court dismissed Flights

A British high court dismissed Tuesday an application made by Turkish Cypriot Airlines, or KTHY, to conduct direct flight between the UK and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus TRNC.

Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu criticized court decision and said it was an indicator of ongoing biased behaviour against TRNC.It is a shame of humanity to let Turkish Cypriot people and the Turkish Cypriot state suffer from embargoes. It is deplorable.

Eroglu recalled that KTHY filed the lawsuit regarding direct flights upon an order of Turkish Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat. He said one of the reasons the court dismissed the case was a UN Security Council resolution adopted in 1983 calling on all states not to recognize TRNC.

They dismissed the case because there could have been a thought, if they had allowed direct flights, that they were standing against the UN Security Council resolution.
