A Darwin travel agent has predicted that one day people getting on a plane in Darwin will have no option but to fly to other Australian destinations with budget airlines.Travel agent Sandra Lew Fatt says lucrative government contracts are keeping Qantas in the Territory for now.
But with more Sydney to Darwin flights recently announced by the cut-price, Qantas-owned airline Jetstar, Ms Lew Fatt believes Qantas will withdraw from the domestic market.Gut feeling tells me that maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but in the long term that Qantas will concentrate more on their international services and leave the domestic to the likes of, God help us, Jetstar.
