University leavers will have to ensure they impress their prospective employers with more than just a degree, according to one specialist.Director of External Relations at professional body the Recruitment and Employment Confederation Tom Hadley remarked that many human resources professionals may see higher education qualifications as a reflection of academic talent, but will look for other qualities.
He said i'm tempted to say that a lot of employers will almost take a degree for a given in a lot of jobs and look for what else you've got.'In these circumstances, it is vital that individuals can provide an impressive CV, Mr Hadley added, with placements and temping experience being valuable. With so many broad degrees available, he commented, it is important that graduates start developing an eye catching resume as early as possible.
According to research conducted on behalf of the Sutton Trusts earlier this year, 77 per cent of 11 to 16-year-olds indicated they were fairly likely or very likely to get into university.ADNFCR-1252-ID-19260859-ADNFCR
