Flights to London

Taipei-based China Airlines CAL announced Wednesday that it will provide non-stop flights to London beginning March 28, with three round trip flights per week.The largest airliner in Taiwan said that the type of aircraft it will use to ply this route will be the Airbus A340-300, which will provide 30 seats for business class passengers and 246 seats for economy class passengers.

The air carrier said that after the inauguration of its non-stop London route, it will become the Taiwanese airline with the largest number of European destinations, with 21 regular flights to Europe per week.In addition to London, the airline already provides non-stop service to two other cities in Europe Frankfurt and Vienna.The non-stop service comes as Britain began granting six-month visa free entries for Taiwanese visitors on March 3, 2009.To seize the opportunities for increased travel to the United Kingdom by Taiwanese students, tourists and business people, CAL will also work with major travel agencies to provide various package tours to London, company officials said.
