Lufthansa Increase more Flights

Deutsche Lufthansa AG LHA.XE said Tuesday it will add 400 additional flights to its flight plan Wednesday and expects a normalization of flight schedules by Friday at the latest, after a German labor court ordered striking German pilots and Lufthansa to return the negotiating table late Monday. The air carrier said while normally 1,800 flights would operate daily, for Wednesday some 1,400 flights are scheduled, adding that more information on further flights to be added for Thursday will be available on the airline's Web site Tuesday evening.

On Monday, around 4,500 pilots went on strike, grounding between 800 and 900 flights and affecting thousands of travelers. However, late Monday a Frankfurt labor court called on the German pilots union Vereinigung Cockpit to suspend the strike until March 8 and return to the negotiating table with Lufthansa.
