Owensboro airline start flights to Orlando

Residents could soon have the opportunity to get out of cold temperatures and head for warmer weather.Allegiant Airlines is adding a third weekly flight from Owensboro to Orlando, FL.The airline started offering flights from Owensboro a year ago.The new flights will start this June, flight to Orlando every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport says Allegiant is one of the few airlines expanding right now.Allegiant right now is the most successful airline in the United States, Airport Manager Bob Whitmer said. From the reports I hear, they're one of the few that have made a profit, and they're expanding in these slow economic times.The airport says Allegiant recently bought 18 new planes to help with the added flights.
