Kingfisher cancelled flights to and from Kolkata on Tuesday

In the first of the many to come inconviniences, airlines have cancelled their flights to and from Kolkata on Tuesday, Sep 7 in the wake of the one day nationwide strike called by the trade unions.A total of 70 Jet Airways and the low-cost Jetlite flights have been cancelled while Kingfisher has cancelled 29 flights, including one international flight to Dhaka.

Guests are requested to note that there would be no transportation available to and from Kolkata airport while the bandh is in force, a Kingfisher spokesperson said in a statement.Kingfisher has rescheduled two of its flights, one from Bangalore
and other to Hyderabad, which will fly on Wednesday, Sep 7.Jet has also cancelled one international flight to Bangkok. Besides this, it has pre-poned their Kolkata Dhaka flight (9W-274), while the Dhaka-Kolkata flight (9W-273) would remain postponed and will operate on Wednesday, Sep 8. Jet has rescheduled Delhi-Bagdogra-Guwahati-Delhi flight (9W-2285).

As of now, Air India is operating all its flights despite the strike.Trade unions, government employees and workers of private sector are observing a 24-hour bandh, from from 6:00 am on Sept 7 to 6:00 am on Sep 8, in protest of price rise, violation of labour laws and disinvestment in PSUsJet and Kingfisher passengers can call the airlines' call centres for further details.
