Flight to Istanbul begin in july

Direct flights between Urumqi in China’s far-western Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region and Istanbul will begin in July, according to a Chinese airline.Officials from Hainan Airlines, China’s fourth-largest carrier, said they planned to run Shanghai-Urumqi-Istanbul flights twice a week with A-330-type planes.Noting that they wanted to use Istanbul's Atatürk Airport, Chinese officials said talks were underway with officials of other airline companies to carry passengers to further destinations after Istanbul.

The airline, which is based in southern China, is currently conducting market research for the Urumqi-Istanbul flights.Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan Airlines will begin flights between Bishkek and Istanbul on Monday.The airline’s first flight, an Airbus 320 jet, will arrive at Istanbul Atatürk International Airport at 4:30 a.m. before returning to Bishkek the same day.Kyrgyzstan Airlines will initially conduct Bishkek-Istanbul flights two times a week.The carrier is Kyrgyzstan’s national airline and is based in the capital, Bishkek. It operates scheduled international and domestic services, as well as charter flights.
