Air France begin direct flights to Paris from Orlando

Starting Tuesday, travelers will be able to flights directly to and from Orlando and Paris, France. It's a route the Orlando International Airport hasn't had since the early 1990s.Tony Fitzjohn is visiting with his family from England. He told News 13 flying across the Atlantic Ocean isn't quick or easy,Two small children adds to that as well,Fitzjohn said.Getting them through security and do checks and that sort of thing can add a bit of time.

Orlando resident John Eveker said he's flown to and from Paris a number of times, but never directly. We usually flights into Germany or England and took trains to get into France,Eveker said. But now that there's a new option, Eveker said he's more inclined to take that same trip again. It is exciting because you can go straight on the plane, you know your bags are on the plane, Eveker said. While tourism to Orlando dropped in 2009, experts said numbers rebounded big time in 2010. Many hope that number continues to grow, as more travel options become available. The first flight coming from Paris is expected to land at OIA at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday. Air France's service is OIA's 25th new international route since October 2007.
