Direct Flights Between Hong Kong & Bali launched by Garuda Indonesia

Daily direct flights between Hong Kong and Bali have been launched by Indonesia’s national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia complementing twice-daily flights to Jakarta.The scheduled Hong Kong-Denpasar service departs daily at 15:45 hrs from Hong Kong International Airport, returning from Bali at 10:00 hrs.Bali flights are aboard brand new Boeing 737-800 ‘Next Generation’ aircrafts in Garuda’s modernised fleet, with the Jakarta service aboard both 737-800s and new Airbus A330-200s.

Riza Perdana Kusuma, Garuda’s General Manager for Hong Kong and Taiwan.Bali, known as the island of the Gods, is just over four and a half hours flight from Hong Kong.Garuda has embarked on a new era upgrading its service to become one of the highest-rated airlines in Asia.It was recently recognised as ‘Most Improved Airline 2010’ by the influential Skytrax rating agency in the 2010 World Airline Awards and declared an internationally recognised and accepted operation by the IATA Operational Safety Audit.The carrier flies to most ASEAN destinations with the most extensive domestic route network in Indonesia.

As part of an on-going fleet revitalisation programme, Garuda’s ‘Next Generation’ Boeing 737-800s are configured with comfortable 42 inch seat pitches in Executive Class and 32 inches in Economy.Personal entertainment systems feature 9 inch touch screen LCD monitors with Audio and Video on Demand showcasing 35 feature films, 10 TV programmes and 48 music albums in all classes.Highlighting the ‘Garuda Indonesia Experience’ in-flight menu in Executive Class is the traditional Indonesian ceremonial specialty Tumpeng, with cone-shaped saffron rice surrounded by assorted vegetable and meat side dishes.Also available is a choice of fine red & white Australian and French wines and champagne.

Garuda’s Executive Lounge is available for Executive Class passengers, Garuda Indonesia Frequent Flyer Platinum or Gold members, plus Executive Card Plus and Garuda Indonesia Citibank Credit Card holders.The lounge offers an array of world class facilities with a fully equipped business centre, meeting rooms and state-of-the-art IT support, as well as a refreshment area complete with shower, quiet relaxation room, nursery and prayer room.
