Storms in the Chicago area forced airlines to cancel hundreds of flights Tuesday and Wednesday, snarling air traffic and stranding travelers atO'Hare International Airport, a major national hub, news reports said. Many passengers slept overnight in cots at the airport.
Airlines were waiving change fees for travelers going to, from or through Chicago through Wednesday. Among them were Continental Airlines and United Airlines. Check the airlines' websites for updates.The storm problems marked the second major issue in less than week for passengers on United, which uses O'Hare as a hub. On Friday, a computer glitch stranded thousands of its customers across the country.
