Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) is in talks with other regional airliners with a view to increasing the number of flights. The national carrier resumed operations in October focusing on two destinations Tabora and Kigoma after it fulfilled aviation recommendations.Speaking at the launch of a new cabin crew uniform in Dar es Salaam at the weekend, ATCL acting chief executive officer Paul Chizi said the company would now focus on regional routes through code sharing with there regional airliners.

We have already consulted Jet Link Express, a Kenyan-based airliner, to discuss how we can collaborate and what remains is to install a computerised observation system. We have also discussed with Air Zambezi so that start flights to Lusaka, Lubumbashi, Harare and other cities. We talked with Rwanda Air and agreed on joint routes to Dubai, Mumbai, Kinshasa and Lagos in February next year, he said.Chizi noted that the company was in final stages on acquiring another plane, which would help connect other regions in the country including Zanzibar and Arusha by January next year.

After acquiring another plane, we will open the regional market. First, we will have a code sharing system with other airliners. I cannot say when such flights will begin but it will take place after acquiring another plane,he stressed.Speaking on the company’s revived flights to Kigoma and Tabora, Chizi said the company had received positive responses from customers for quality services.I have received many compliments for the services we offer. For those, who will get a chance to use our plane, will see that flying with ATCL makes a difference,he stressed.
