Upon completing the Semester at Sea program, Shaw will spend her summer back home on Maui volunteering with the excavation of Moku’ula with UH Maui students where she plans to give a presentation about her Semester at Sea experience.

The UH Hilo Semester at Sea scholarship is in partnership with the Institute for Shipboard Education. Shaw also received the IFSA Global Scholarship for $2,500, designed to encourage first-generation college students to study abroad.
