121 new courses introduced local universities this year

total of 121 new courses will be introduced in local universities this year, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said.He said the courses, which had been approved, would meet the requirements of the National Key Economic Areas and market demand in the future.Among the fields are software engineering, Islamic banking technology, agriculture and agriculture-based programmes, health sciences, Computer Science,sport sciences, tourism, hospitality and entrepreneurship.

Student are encouraged to apply according to this 121 new courses. This is to avoid competition in other popular courses, especially medical and law, he told reporters after the opening of the Eighth National Higher Education Carnival by chief Minister Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob here today.
These new fields have high marketability rate, he said.
