Low-Cost Airlines to add More Flights

Three budget airlines in Korea are set to expand their international flight services. According to the Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs on Wednesday, Jeju Air will begin service between Gimpo and Nagoya in March, and Air Pusan will launch flights to Fukuoka and Osaka flight in March and April respectively. Jin Air will begin service between Incheon and Guam in April.

The budget carriers are also considering operating irregular flights between Busan and Cebu, the Philippines, and between Cheongju and Phuket, Thailand, with some of them already offering the services.Of Korea's low-cost carriers, only two currently operate regular international routes: Jeju Air flies from Incheon to Osaka, Kitakyushu, and Bangkok, while Jin Air flies between Incheon and Bangkok.Fares on budget carriers are typically 20-40 percent cheaper than on normal airlines.
