Flights from Malaysia to Indonesian not affected by Merapi eruption

Flights from Malaysia to Indonesian destinations have not been affected by the Mount Merapi volcanic eruption in central Java, Indonesia.A check with local airlines found that no flights to Indonesia had been cancelled.All Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flights to its six Indonesian destinations and AirAsia flights to 11 destinations in Indonesia were running on schedule.

Sales representatives from both airlines said passengers would be notified via e-mail and SMS in case of cancelled flights.A notice will also be put on our website,said a sales representative from MAS.The 400,000-year-old Mount Merapi erupted on Oct 27.According to official figures, the eruption had claimed 33 lives.
