Flights to Moscow will start in March

An airline InAero will offer flights to Moscow four times a week, according to the report.The head of Kaunas airport Arijandas Sliupas said that Kaunas airport was going to expand flights to the niche and holiday destinations, as well as Eastern directions, informs LETA.There could also be more flights to outer Norwegian, German towns.Looking at the reservations from Moscow, they are encouraging. According to Sliupas, it is planned that in the future an aviation business cluster could be established in Kaunas. At the moment, there is a technical maintenance hangar and a project of helicopter support base project is being implemented. It is expected that in the future there would be an aircraft maintenance base, pilot training center, hotel. Construction of Economy-class hotel is expected to be completed next year, but the process is hampered by uncertainties regarding the detailed plan.As reported, International Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports serviced approximately 2.7 million passengers in 2011. It is more by 18.1% than it was in 2010 and by 5.7 than in 2008, the Ministry of Transport and Communications said.
