SpiceJet to Start flights to Afghanistan

SpiceJet Ltd. 500285.BY -1.17% Friday said it will start direct flights to Kabul from Aug. 14, becoming the first private airline in India to fly to the capital of Afghanistan.The flights between New Delhi and Kabul will initially run for three days a week, said India's second-biggest budget airline by market share.National carrier Air India is currently the only Indian carrier that has flights to Afghanistan.

Kabul will be the fourth international destination for SpiceJet, adding to Colombo, Kathmandu and Dubai. In India, the company operates flights to 37 cities using a fleet of 47 Boeing Co. BA +2.51% and Bombardier planes.
