Finnair will provide a new travel option for people interested in exploring south-east Asia next year with the launch of flights to Hanoi from Helsinki.The Scandinavian airline will be the only European carrier to offer a direct connection from Europe to Vietnam's capital city.Subject to regulatory approval, the route will begin on 14 June 2013 and provide three weekly links over the summer season.Mika Vehvilainen, Finnair's chief executive officer, said: 'We are delighted to be able to add Hanoi as our 12th destination in Asia.This is yet another important step for Finnair toward our long-term goal of doubling our Asian revenue by 2020.Hanoi is set to have the world's fastest-growing economy between 2008 and 2025, according to PricewaterhouseCoopers, and is also notable for features such as its historic quarter, French colonial architecture, Buddhist temples and the nearby Halong Bay.Finnair has a strategic focus on providing services between Europe and Asia, with a network including flights to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and other destinations from Helsinki.cheap flights, hotels and car hire - let the journey begin!
