Student Receives Scholarship

Tina Schutter of Waynesville, has been awarded the Dr. Maren Partenheimer Memorial Scholarship from the Truman State University Foundation for 2009-10.Schutter, a junior at the University, is the daughter of Rebecca and Douglas Beard, and John and Lisa Schutter.
The Dr. Maren Partenheimer Memorial Scholarship was established in 1997 by her husband, Dr. David Partenheimer, and friends in memory of Dr. Maren Partenheimer, who joined the German

faculty at Truman in 1986 and taught through the spring of 1997.After a courageous struggle with cancer, she died in May of 1997.While at Truman, Dr. Partenheimer consistently strove to improve and expand opportunities for students in the German curriculum and initiated a successful study abroad program in Kiel, Germany.

Since its creation in 1980, the Truman State University Foundation has provided an opportunity for thousands of alumni and friends to make an investment in students as they prepare to be tomorrow's leaders in a variety of professions.Truman State University is located in Kirksville and has an enrollment of about 5,800 students.
