A woman operating as a travel agent after her licence was cancelled is under investigation by the New South Wales Department of Fair Trading and police. It is not known yet how many people may have been sold invalid tickets by Judy Nobilo who lost her licence last year when she was trading as Imperial Travel.
Some customers have complained that they arrived at the airport to discover their tickets were useless. The Fair Trading Minister, Linda Burney, says travellers who believe they may have been ripped off should take urgent action.Anyone that's been affected should contact their credit card provider to arrange for charge back, contact the travel compensation fund to see if they are eligible for compensation. In the event that they are not covered, contact the Office of fair trading.
