Air New Zealand to increase the number of flights

Travellers planning a tour of New Zealand in the near future will find it easier to get around the country when the national airline extends its range of domestic flights.Air New Zealand announced that it would increase the number of services available between Auckland and the city of New Plymouth in the Taranaki region from 11 October.An additional return flight will be available every weekday, meaning the total seat capacity on the route will rise by 5%.

The carrier will use Beech 1900D and Q300 planes to provide the extra connections.Bruce Parton, Air New Zealand's group general manager in Australasia, said: 'Over the past couple of months I've made a point of visiting customers in many of the regional towns and cities we service including New Plymouth. Their feedback was overwhelmingly about price and frequency.'He went on to state that frequent flyers using the Starfish card can get up to 30% off all regional fares.The carrier also announced this month that it would be increasing the number of flights available between Auckland and Palmerston North during evening peak travel periods. cheap flights, hotels and car hire - let the journey begin!
