2 Art student UBD Study Abroad Programme In The UK

Two art students of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) left for the United Kingdom to take part in a study abroad programme.Munirah Hj Tahamit and Norzakamila Md Zain will be pursuing the third year of their studies at the Prince's School of Traditional Art (PSTA) in London, and are expected to return to Brunei in July next year.

Munirah, who is studying Bachelors of Art in Education in Arts, said that she was excited and nervous about going to the UK.I'm just a bit worried as well, because I'm the head of the executive committee for the student's association and we have the convocation coming, so I've had to delegate my tasks,she said.Munirah said even though she was leaving for the UK, she would still be corresponding with her peers in Brunei until the events had concluded.I still feel it's my responsibility to see it through,she said.This is the first time Munirah is going to the UK and said that she was selected to go by her lecturer, Dr Hj Baharudin Hj Mohd Arus, the Art and Creative Technology Programme Leader at UBD.I feel very honoured to have been selected to go,she said. She knew about her being sent abroad in February.Munirah's coursemate, Norzakamila also expressed her excitement to be going to the UK, but nervous at the same time.The two girls said they hope to improve on their artistic skills during their year abroad.Munirah said that abstract was her favourite form of art, while Norzakamila enjoys portraits the most.
