Opting to learn the local language while on a break could give holidaymakers a better taste of their destination.Tamzin Caffrey, head of marketing, press and publishing at CILT, The National Centre for Languages, said that trying to learn the language could help tourists to have a richer experience while on their holiday.Taking cheap flights to Thailand could give travellers the opportunity to learn some of the Thai language, while also partaking in more traditional holiday pursuits, such as spending time enjoying the sunshine.
Learning a language adds greater depth to a holiday, Ms Caffrey suggested. It adds to the overall enjoyment and appreciation of the country and the culture. Of course if you speak in the local language you'll be treated like a local and make some new friends, she said.Ms Caffrey added that often Brits find that when they try to speak local languages, the person they are talking to speaks back to them in English, however, trying to make the most of every opportunity will help people to learn.
