Jeju Air to launches flights to Hong Kong and Philippines

Jeju Air Co., South Korea's biggest low-cost carrier, said Monday that it will provide flights to Hong Kong and two cities of the Philippines as part of its overseas expansion.Jeju Air plans to launch three flights per week on the route between Incheon, South Korea's main gateway, and Hong Kong from Wednesday, the carrier said in a statement.

The budget carrier will also provide flights on the routes between South Korea's second-largest city of Busan and the Philippine resort city of Cebu, and between Incheon and Manila, starting late next month.The new overseas flights will increase the carrier's destinations to eight cities in four countries China, the Philippines, Japan and Thailand.Jeju Air's move comes as South Korean budget carriers have been ramping up efforts to expand their overseas flight services to Asian countries in a bid to bolster earnings base.
