Education abroad adviser at Penn State Altoona, is the staff recipient of the 2011 Penn State W. LaMarr Kopp International Achievement Award.The award, established in 1995, recognizes faculty and staff members who have contributed significantly to the advancement of the international missions of the University. It is named for the late deputy vice president for international programs.
At Penn State Altoona, Reinig has established an effective Web presence for the Altoona Study Abroad Office and has successfully recruited both faculty and students to study abroad programs. She developed marketing efforts to raise awareness of international education on campus and to achieve the University goal of 20 percent of graduates having significant international experience before graduating.
Holding master’s degrees in English as a Second Language (ESL) and International Affairs, Reinig serves as a mentor and ESL instructor to international and immigrant students. She continues to expand her cultural knowledge and language skills through language immersion programs abroad and integrates her work with faculty, students, and international travel with her research.Reinig has received several grants, presented papers, and published on several facets of the international experience.
