Flights to Cairo launched by Jazeera Airways

Award winning Jazeera Airways became the first new airline to launch flights to Cairo. Jazeera Airways kicked off the Kuwait-Cairo route with 10 flights per week, and it is scheduled to increase frequency to the historic Egyptian capital to 21 flights per week starting from June 16. The airline celebrated the launch of the route with an event at Cairo International Airport that was attended by the large visiting delegation from Kuwait who came on board the first flight and leading members of Egypt's travel and tourism industry, Cairo International Airport officials, and the Egyptian press. The visiting delegation included Jazeera Airways senior management team, a senior representative of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of the Kuwait Directorate General for Civil Aviation, and leading members of the Kuwaiti press as well as the top 20 travel agents from Kuwait.

The delegation was headed by Chairman Marwan Boodai and included senior executives from Jazeera Airways, who were received by Imperial Travel Center, the airline's local agent in the country. ITC was represented by its Chairman Omar Shelebi.With this new route, Jazeera Airways now operates to six Egyptian destinations from Kuwait on a permanent basis, and they are Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh, Assiut, and Sohag. The airline also operates Hurghada and Marsa Alaam on a seasonal basis.

Jazeera Airways operates one of the youngest Airbus A320 fleets in the Middle East and the company was recently granted IOSA certification for operation and safety excellence by IATA.
