Frontier Airline adds daily flights from Twin Cities to Kansas

Frontier Airlines on Monday started non-stop service between the Minneapolis-St. Paul and Kansas City, Mo.Indianapolis-based Frontier will offer two flights a day Monday through Saturday from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to Kansas City International Airport, according to a news release. It will offer one flight on Sundays. Planes will depart at 9:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., depending on the day of the week.

The introduction of a competitive air service alternative for people flights between the Twin Cities and Kansas City is great for consumers, providing more scheduling options and keeping fares in check,Jeff Hamiel, executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, said in a statement.The new route will be served by Embraer 190 aircraft, which seat 99 passengers, and Embraer 170 aircraft, which seat 76 travelers.Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is the only other airline to offer direct service between the Twin Cities and Kansas City.
