Southwest Airline launch Newark flights

Southwest Airlines on Sunday added three nonstop flights between Denver International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport.Overall, Dallas-based Southwest is adding 10 new daily non-stops from Newark to various cities this month, including three to Baltimore/Washington International, two to Houston Hobby, and two to Phoenix Sky Harbor International.

The airline the second largest at DOA says it is offering the expanded service to serve passenger demand for flights to a key gateway airport for New York City. The airline late last year reached a Newark gate-lease deal with Continental Airlines, which is now merged with United Airlines. The agreement allows Southwest to operate up to 18 daily roundtrip flights at Newark Liberty International.
