THY increase number of flights to Washington

Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines is getting prepared to increase its number of flights to Washington, the United States.THY which started its direct Istanbul-Washington flights nine months ago decided to increase the number of flights to six a week.

THY's director in Washington Handan Corekci said in a statement that THY which started direct flights to Washington four times a week would increase the number to six as of August 29 due to a great demand from Turkey as well as from India, Middle East, Africa, Balkans and Turkic Republics.Based in Istanbul, THY is one of the fastest growing airline companies in the world. A Star Alliance member carrying approximately 25 million passengers a year, THY posted 286 million Turkish lira net profit in 2010.
