Haj flights arrive late

Hundreds of hajis remained stranded at Amausi Airport as Jeddah bound flights repeatedly got delayed for the second consecutive day on Friday. There were three dedicated flights of Saudi Airlines from Amausi Airport scheduled to take around 800 hajis on the day. But two of them arrived late, thus causing discomfort for the pilgrims, many of whom had come from far-flung cities and villages.

The flight SV-5421 was scheduled to arrive on Thursday to take 291 hajis. But, it arrived at 8.00 on Friday morning. Another batch of 290 hajis arrived at Amausi to board the flight SV-5507 scheduled to arrive at 11.00am. However, the flight arrived at 1.00pm. Likewise, the second scheduled flight, SV-5517, arrived two hours late.
