MLL offering free online courses

The Mount Laurel Library on Walt Whitman Drive is offering online continuing education courses designed for use by patrons of public libraries.The Universal Class Library Edition provides more than 540 courses, with real instructors guiding the learning and grading the lessons. The courses include video-based lessons, a collaborative learning environment, and certificates of achievement. Some have continuing education units.You have to have a Mount Laurel Library card, but with that the courses are all free, said Joan M. Serpico, the library's manager of special projects.

The course offerings are in several categories, including exercise and fitness, entrepreneurship, art and music, home and garden care, cooking,computers Science and technology, Public health and medicine, homeschooling, job assistance, law and legal issues, parenting, and pet and animal care.The library is offering the courses in conjunction with Recorded Books of Prince Frederick, Md.
