Turkish Airlines introduce flights to Manchester-Istanbul

Turkish Airlines has announced it will be introducing three extra flights per week between Manchester and Istanbul.The airline said due to strong demand for its services, it was increasing its flights between the two cities starting from 25 March, when it will increase to nine weekly flights and then 10 weekly services from 28 May for the rest of the summer schedule.The additional three flights will operate on Monday, Friday and Sunday using 737-800 aircraft.

Turkish Airlines, which has been serving the Manchester route since 1993, said its current sponsorship deal with Manchester United has raised its profile catching the attention of football fans around the world.Andrew Harrison, Manchester Airports Group’s chief operating officer, said:The partnership between Manchester Airport and Turkish Airlines has been in place for 19 years and in that time they have become one of Europe’s largest carriers as well as a lead sponsor of one of our city’s most famous football clubs.It’s great to see an airline making bigger commitments to the airport and the north west region, which proves the demand is there. Increasing their services will give our passengers more choice to travel to not only Istanbul but to more than 100 onward destinations Turkish Airlines serve.”
